Canvass in Michigan & Wisconsin
We Chicagoans have close ties with Michigan and Wisconsin. And both of those states are vital to win in the November elections.
This summer, come and join citywide Indivisible Chicago knocking doors in the critical swings state of Michigan and Wisconsin as we work to maintain the Midwest Blue Wall and defeat Trump. Info/sign-up

We’ll make a drive of about 90 minutes from Chicago to our meetup locations in these two states. We’ll have a pre-canvass briefing once we get there, then split off into pairs to knock doors and find the voters that are going to help us deliver a win in November.
Indivisible Chicago will provide all the info and prep you’ll need and will have carpools for anyone needing a ride. Sign up today, and Indivisible Chicago will be in touch with details.
Protect Asylum!
From Indivisible Chicago: On June 4, President Joe Biden and his administration issued an executive order that claims to increase security across the southern border, by curtailing legal rights to seek asylum on US soil.
We join our voices with many immigrant and progressive organizations in calling for the Biden Administration to rescind this order and hold true to its campaign promises of advocating for meaningful and humane structural changes to the immigration system.

The interim final rule, which went into immediate effect at midnight on June 5, will lead to increased deportations at the US-Mexico border between ports of entry, placing many refugees directly in harm’s way by sending them back to dangerous locations and forcing them to consider life-threatening alternatives to enter the country.
Moreover, according to legal advocacy groups such as The American Bar Association and Human Rights Watch, the executive order is in violation of US asylum law and international covenants held in the Refugee Convention.
Indivisible Chicago believes that our focus must be on creating a just, humane, and effective immigration system.Read Indivisible Chicago’s full statement here.
ACT
Here is what you can do in response to President Biden’s harmful executive order.
1. Contact President Joe Biden and U.S. Citizenship and Services (USCIS) and urge the Administration to rescind the executive order and pivot to a restoration of asylum, due process, and fixing the immigration system for all.
- Share your comment with President Joe Biden at the whitehouse.gov contact page.
- Add your feedback on the published rule at the Regulations.gov comments page
2.Share the messages on social media.
- Like and re-post any posts from Indivisible Chicago or other organizations that use the hashtags #SaveAsylum, #AsylumRights, or #WelcomeWithDignity.
- Create your own posts, use the same hashtags, and tag the appropriate handles for President Biden and USCIS.
3. Share this information with others and ask them to take this action as well.
Project 2025: Inform Your Friends!
Do your friends know about Project 2025 and the very real danger it poses to our nation? If Trump and Republicans take the White House and Congress, they will impose a militarized, anti-science, christo-fascist regime with power centered on the presidency. Sound like a far-fetched conspiracy theory? Unfortunately, it’s real.

ACT: Keep working to inform your friends and associates about Project 2025, the comprehensive plan created by the right-wing Heritage Foundation and supported by the GOP. Use your social media or talk person to person.

The Power of the Pen
Thanks to all who turned out last week to write Vote Forward letters with us at the Nile. We’ll soon be announcing our summer dates — watch this space!

Write at Home from Now to October
Reach voters in key states with paper and pen. We encourage you to sign up with Vote Forward, so you can print, write, and mail your own letters from home.

Be like Steve! Write letters at home, alone or with friends.
But does it really make a difference? On the one hand, nothing matches the results of face-to-face or voice-to-voice contact with voters (canvassing or phone-banking). But evidence shows that Vote Forward letters have a real impact.

Sign up for a free account with Vote Forward, choose a state or states, and then opt to print 20 letters, 200 letters, 2000 letters… whatever works for your schedule between now and the mail date in October. Invite your friends and host your own mini-parties.
Tell Your Reps: SAY NO TO NETANYAHU
From national Indivisible: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is corrupt and continuing the war in Gaza for his own political gain. His relentless bombings of hospitals and refugee camps have killed tens of thousands of innocent Palestinians. He has made it clear that he is more interested in his far-right agenda than in bringing an end to the brutal war and securing the release of the hostages.

Having Netanyahu speak to Congress would undermine efforts by President Biden and the international community to end the war and get desperately needed aid to the people of Gaza.
Tell your members of Congress you expect them to say No to Netanyahu and to skip his address. They must send a clear message to him that they do not support his prolonged war or the bloodshed it has caused and take a stand in support of a ceasefire.
ACT: Use national Indivisible’s simple form to email your members of Congress and tell them to say NO to Netanyahu.
