Primary Day for our Local, State, and Congressional offices is TODAY, Tuesday June 11! Here’s what you need to know about voting in Charleston County:
When? Polls are open until 7pm, today, Tuesday June 11
Where? Your regular neighborhood polling location.* Please check SCvotes.gov to confirm your polling location.
*Please note 5 precincts in Charleston County will not be voting at their typically polling location for the June 11 Primaries:
- St. Andrews 10, 14 at Pinecrest Baptist Church moved to: Ashley River Creative Arts Elementary School – 1871 Wallace School Rd.
- St. Andrews 22, 23 at Old St Andrew’s Parish Church moved to: Montessori Community School – 2120 Wood Ave.
- McClellanville at Lincoln High School moved to New Wappetaw Presbyterian Church – 635 Pinckney St.

- 1st Congressional District (East Cooper, Edisto Island, Folly Beach, Kiawah, James Island, Johns Island, Seabrook, Wadmalaw)
- State Senate District 32 (Awendaw, McClellanville)
- State Senate District 42 (upper peninsula of Charleston, North Chas.)
- State House District 15 (upper North Charleston)
- *State House District 109 (west side of North Charleston) *Note one of the two primary candidates in this race, Jessica Bright, has withdrawn so her name will still appear on the ballot, but votes for Ms. Bright will not be counted. There is only one active candidate remaining in this primary, Rep. Tiffany Spann-Wilder.
- State House District 111 (central West Ashley, middle & upper peninsula of Charleston, lower North Charleston)
- State House District 116 (outer West Ashley, Ravenel, Hollywood, Wadmalaw, Edisto Island, northern Johns Island)
**Please note that because there is no state-wide, or county-wide, primary, not every precinct will have a Democratic Primary. The following precincts DO NOT have a Democratic Primary on June 11:
- Charleston 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7
- Ladson
- Lincolnville
- North Charleston 9
- St. Andrews 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, and 37
Problems at the polls? The party does not appoint poll watchers in primaries, but if you run into any issues, please call the SC Democratic Party Voter Protection Hotline at 855-785-0222.

Join us for one of our most fun and important events of the year as we reach out to voters at the Juneteenth Family Fest! This year’s festival will be Saturday June 15th at Riverfront Park in North Charleston. We’ll need volunteers to staff our table, hand out flyers about our candidates, and register voters! As the primary season winds to a close, we are developing plans for Get Out The Vote (GOTV) efforts later this summer and fall.
There are over 35,000 key voters we are attempting to contact at least twice. These are the persuadable people who will play a pivotal role in determining several competitive state house, county council, and county-wide races across Charleston County.
We need your help to reach them! Please sign up today to volunteer for our voter outreach efforts this fall and/or help fund our efforts!
