Next Week: Learn to Canvass with Confidence
Do you feel unsure about the idea of talking to voters door to door? Are you an experienced canvasser, but it’s been a while?

Find some familiar faces from a past canvassing trip
Canvassing – knocking doors and talking to voters – is the gold standard for getting out the vote where it counts.
We can all learn to become confident, effective canvassers for the 2024 elections. On the evening of Tuesday, May 21, join us, with host Indivisible Downtown Chicago, for an Indivisible Chicago Alliance training: “Yes, You Canvass.”

To prepare volunteers to canvass in the months leading up to the election, the Indivisible Chicago Alliance is offering the “Yes, You Canvass” training for anyone who has never done it before or can just use a refresher. You’ll learn what canvassing is all about and how you can make the biggest difference possible in winning the most important election of our lifetime.
HOW TO REGISTER: Take part in the in-person “Yes, You Canvass” training Tuesday May 21st, 6:30-8:00 pm, hosted by the Indivisible Downtown Chicago chapter in partnership with IC-SS at Grace Place, 637 S. Dearborn. You’ll receive more information upon signing up. Register here.

Justice Can’t Wait: Raise Your Voice Online
Justice can’t wait! We believe that the former president must stand trial for the insurrection he attempted after he lost the election in 2020. We want that trial to be completed before the election this November so that voters know the outcome before they cast their vote.

But Trump’s January 6th criminal trial can’t take place until the Supreme Court rules on the preposterous question of whether a president is immune from criminal charges committed while president, excepting official acts. In this case, of course, the charge is criminal conspiracy to overthrow an election.
It seems apparent that some justices are deliberately helping delay Trump’s criminal trial — by accepting the absurd immunity case in the first place and then by delaying their ruling.
We cannot allow justice delayed to become democracy destroyed. Time is short, so raise your voice and act now!

Act: SCOTUS Must Reject Immunity by May 20
1. Read and Share: Read and share the engaging Justice Can’t Wait website, with more information and suggested actions.

2. Petition: Sign this petition from the Women’s March calling on the Supreme Court to rule on and reject the immunity claim by May 20.

3. Social Media Storm: Do you use social media? From now until May 20th, use the Research Collaborative’s #JusticeCantWait toolkit to create your own posts. The toolkit has suggested wording and graphics to create posts demanding that SCOTUS reject Trump’s immunity case by May 20th, so that the Trump criminal conspiracy trial can go forward by election day in November.
