Charleston County Democratic Party Office Hours are BACK!

We are grateful to our volunteers who have committed the time to get our regular office hours back up and running!

Need to drop off / pick up campaign materials, help us prep for our next event, or want to make some world-changing phone calls?  You can now drop by our office – 1379 Ashley River Rd. Charleston, SC 29407 – at the following times and someone will be there to let you in and put you to work between now and Election Day:

  • Mondays 12-3pm
  • Wednesdays 2-4pm
  • Fridays 2-5pm

*We will of course have many other events, volunteer activities, meetings, etc. at the office throughout the year, but these are the times you can plan on someone being there even if there isn’t anything else scheduled.

We’re rolling out Candidate Spotlights every day now!  There are 38 great Democratic candidates running in  29 races across Charleston County.

One of the most important things we can do as a party is get you well connected and informed about them, so please follow us on social media (FacebookInstagram, and TwitterX) and visit our website’s candidates page to keep up as we continue to roll these out!

June 11 Primary Info!

We’ve got elections coming up!  South Carolina’s primaries for Congress, State Legislature, and County Offices will be held on June 11.  There will be a two week early voting period prior to that from May 28 – June 7 (polls will be open Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm).

The voter registration deadline for these primaries varies based on the method by which you register (May 10 for in-person, May 12 for online, May 13 for mailed voter registration forms), but all are approaching soon!

The following Charleston County races (and noted Charleston County areas covered by each district) will have June 11 Democratic Primaries:

– 1st Congressional District (East Cooper, Edisto Island, Folly Beach, Kiawah, James Island, Johns Island, Seabrook, Wadmalaw)

– State Senate District 32 (Awendaw, McClellanville)

– State Senate District 42 (upper peninsula of Charleston, North Charleston)

– State House District 15 (upper North Charleston)

– State House District 109 (west side of North Charleston)

– State House District 111 (central West Ashley, middle & upper peninsula of Charleston, lower North Charleston)

– State House District 116 (outer West Ashley, Ravenel, Hollywood, Wadmalaw, Edisto Island, northern Johns Island)

2024 SC Dem Weekend (and DNC Delegate Selection)!

The 2024 South Carolina Democratic weekend has a full and exciting agenda! Join us as we elect our delegates to the Democratic National Convention and set the direction of our party for this critical election year!

– Friday May 17: Blue Palmetto Dinner featuring Senators Raphael Warnock & Cory Booker – 6pm at the State Fairgrounds (get tickets here)

– Friday May 17: Jim Clyburn’s World Famous Fish Fry – 8:30pm at EdVenture Childrens Museum

– Saturday May 18: SC Democratic Convention – 8am at Benedict College

*The first round of elections for DNC Delegates will take place prior to the state convention via a May 7 Zoom and May 8 electronic voting. State convention delegates who are eligible to vote will receive a unique link to join the virtual process. View the list of candidates for DNC Delegates here.

March with us in the 2024 Charleston Pride Parade!

Join us for one of our most fun and important outreach events of the year as we march in the 2024 Charleston Pride Parade!  This year’s parade will be Saturday June 1st (approximately 8am-noon) and we’ll need folks to march with us, hand out flyers, and decorate/prepare materials in advance.
