States United says 86 of the 253 members of the PA General Assembly are election deniers.
That’s more than the number of women.
a, we need your help to close the gender gap, defend democracy, and expand the Democratic majority.
Democrats, led by Joanna McClinton (the first woman Speaker of the PA House), are defending a ONE SEAT majority this November.
We can’t let election-denying abortion-banners take over America’s most important swing state.
Meet the four women we’re highlighting today:
Hadley Haas (PA-HD44 Allegheny) is a Pittsburgh native who stood up after the Sandy Hook massacre to fight gun violence, co-leading a chapter of Moms Demand Action. A mother of two boys who needed cochlear implants to hear, she chaired Friends of the Hearing Center at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
Elizabeth Moro (PA-HD160 Chester/Delaware) is a cafe owner, real estate broker, mother of five, and author of The Civil Graces Project: The Pursuit of Common Ground, running to flip a Biden +7 district. Her opponent led the sham impeachment attempt of Philadelphia’s district attorney.
Eleanor Breslin (PA-HD143 Bucks) made history as the first woman to lead Tinicum Township. An environmental lawyer who defends our right to clean air, she holds Big Oil and Gas accountable for polluting Pennsylvania communities.
Sara Agerton (PA-HD88 Cumberland) is a social worker and healthcare administrator. She has served as a Mechanicsburg Borough Councilmember, Girl Scout leader, and guardian for vulnerable Pennsylvanians.
Since 2017, Turn PA Blue has helped flip dozens of PA State House seats, ending decades of Republican control and electing the first woman Speaker.
PETITION: Pass the Equality Act!
The Human Rights Campaign: The LGBTQ+ community is living in a state of emergency in the United States.
Join us and sign the petition to urge Congress to protect freedoms for all of us and pass the Equality Act.
Republicans have introduced more than 450 anti-LGBTQ+ bills so far in 2024 despite the fact that 80 percent of Americans support federal non-discrimination protections for LGBTQ+ individuals.
The Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the nation’s largest organization devoted to LGBTQ+ rights, has declared a state of emergency for the LGBTQ+ community for the first time in their 43 year history.
The United States doesn’t currently have federal laws that specifically protect the LGBTQ+ community from discrimination and protect their civil rights. That’s why we need Congress to pass the Equality Act.
In January 2021, newly inaugurated President Biden signed executive orders to combat discrimination against LGBTQ+ individuals, and reversed a ban on transgender individuals serving in the military.
However, since Republicans regained control of the House in 2022, they have passed legislation that is antithetical to equal rights. In 2019 Trump opposed the Equality Act to protect the LGBTQ+ community from discrimination, and he plans to target the LGBTQ+ community if re-elected.
Growing inequality despite growing social acceptance makes it clear that Congress must act to expand protections for our LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters.
Sign your name to urge Congress to guarantee freedoms to all and pass the Equality Act!
