We’ll discuss with a couple of old friends: Gregory Royal Pratt, the Tribune’s City Hall reporter and author of a new book about Lightfoot, The City Is Up for Grabs; and Brandon Pope, the host of On the Block, Block Club Chicago’s TV show on WCIU channel 26. Guarantee: they will have opinions!
When: Thursday, April 18th, 6:00 pm. (Bar opens 5:30)
Where: Hideout Inn, 1354 W. Wabansia.
Register: Free and open to all, but please RSVP here.

What Happens at Our Letter Parties?
What happens at our letter parties? Our generous letter leader, Steve Kagan, brings pens, envelopes, and pre-printed Vote Forward letters for you to personalize to help get out the vote in key states and districts. We get a plate of fries or appetizers for the table, and you can purchase your own meal.
We encourage you to bring first-class stamps to donate. But the most important thing is to be there! RSVP here

Prefer to write at home? You can also print and write letters on your own! Get all the info at Vote Forward.
* Why Jimmy’s on Wednesday, April 24?
We learned that the Nile is unable to accommodate us on Wednesdays, so for our already-planned Wednesday, April 24 date, we switched to Jimmy’s Woodlawn Tap, just a few doors down at 1172 E. 55th. We’ll be in one of the back rooms and will bring extra lighting. (Then on Thursday, May 2, we’ll return to the Nile.)

Organizations & Opportunities
Indivisible Chicago-South Side shares information and actions from other organizations on issues important in our country, state, city, and communities.
Get Trained: Register Voters at Cook County Jail
From Chicago Votes: While voter turnout for the primary elections was generally low, turnout in the jail exceeded that of the rest of the city. Early voting took place inside Cook County Jail (CCJ) the first two weekends in March, with 24% of people detained in the jail casting a ballot compared to 20% of the general Chicago population.

Now through November, Chicago Votes will continue its ballot education sessions and voter registration in the jail. If you are interested in registering voters in the jail, become a CCJ Votes volunteer in a few steps.
Start by completing the fully online, self-paced Cook County Jail Votes training. Once you complete the training course, you will begin receiving monthly CCJ Votes opportunities in your inbox.

- Saturday 4/20 at 10am
- Wednesday 4/24 at 7pm (in-person)
