The Virginia Court of Appeals is weighing a case centered around a nurse, Frederick Yeboah who was disciplined for sexual harassment at nova Mount Vernon Hospital and then resigned, only to be hired by Senatara where he again sexually assaulted a patient, records show….The patient — anonymously known as “HC” — sued both Sentara and Yeboah in 2018 but, in trial, a judge allowed Sentara to be removed from the case. A jury ruled in HC’s favor, but ultimately only Yeboah was on the hook. He was convicted and is now serving 10 years in a Richmond County prison. News article.
This case has broader implications and not just in the medical provider setting. Imagine if all employers use this tactic in cases of sexual assault/harassment
