10 mins read

The General Assembly is officially over for 2024!

With your help, 60 of the Virginia Grassroots Coalition’s priority bills were passed by the State House and Senate. Thank you. We are now waiting to see which the Governor decides to support, keep updated a the coalition’s website: https://virginiagrassroots.org.

Thank you to two of our savvy coalition leaders, Luisa Boyarski & Denis Orsinger for their endless help and guidance. Thank you to all the working groups: Climate and Clean Energy, Education, Working Families, Justice Reform, Gun Violence Prevention, Good Governance, Campaign Finance Reform, Women’s Issues, Voting Rights, Human Rights & Civil Rights.

If you, Katherine, or your organization would like to join our working groups for next session, please be in touch with Luisa (Luisaboyarski@gmail.com). We welcome input and collaboration with all.

Groups, organizations: consider joining the national Grassroots Directory. Everyone take a look – it is quite a fabulous project for collaboration and now is the time for that!

  • For leaders who just want to make a public display of grassroots muscle, a way to do so in minutes.
  • For leaders who want to learn more about all types of pro-democracy grassroots groups in “swing states”.
  • For leaders just wanting to locate other groups new to them, an easy ”yellow pages” for the grassroots community.

We have one important Call to Action: Support Women’s Right to Control Their Bodies. Let’s all take it and let Governor Youngkin know how we feel about this in Virginia!

Stair
