Charleston County Democratic Convention this Saturday, March 16!

We are pleased to announce the keynote speaker of our 2024 Charleston County Democratic Convention, Vicki Ringer, the Director of Public Affairs for Planned Parenthood Votes South Atlantic.

Since the 2022 elections, South Carolina’s Republican dominated legislature has passed a near-total abortion ban and effectively ended reproductive freedom in our state. We are excited to hear from Vicki about the importance of recruiting, supporting, and electing pro-choice, pro-women, and pro-freedom candidates in 2024!

RSVP here to attend the County Convention!

County Conventions are the most local and grassroots organizing tool of the National Democratic Party.  All Charleston County Democrats are invited and encouraged to attend our convention this coming Saturday!

We will seat the delegates to the County Convention who will then elect members of both our County Executive Committee and the Charleston County Delegates to the South Carolina State Democratic Convention.

The Executive Committee is the governing body of our County Party and those who are empowered to elect officers and vote on party business.

Use this form to run for Delegate and/or Executive Committee

You are welcome and encouraged to attend even if you do not want to pursue those party leadership roles; all local Democrats may attend the convention as an observer.  You’ll still be able to meet & hear from local Democratic candidates and learn about more ways to get involved with volunteering for our party!

PLEASE NOTE: There has been a location change from previous announcements.  The County Convention will take place at Burke High School (244 President St. Charleston, SC 29403) on March 16 at 1pm.
