WORKERS AND FAMILIES

Vote yes on SB373 Family & Medical Leave

CLIMATE AND CLEAN ENERGY

Vote YES on SB79 – SOLAR READY-ROOFS

Thanks if you have previously sent emails on this bill, but we need to ask again! There was some question whether this bill will have a fiscal impact, so the bill was referred to the House Appropriations Committee. We have been told that there is no budget amendment needed, and that any fiscal impact will ultimately be positive, but we need to encourage the House Appropriations Committee to support the bill.  Thanks for your continued support!

Vote YES on HB862 Grid Enhancing Technology – Upgrade our Electric Grid

Our electric utilities are incentivized to build capital projects and need legislative guidance to incorporate efficiency in their energy plans. This bill that asks that our utilities consider all grid enhancements before building new projects. The action will email each member of the Senate Commerce and Labor committee, which meets Monday 2/26.

CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM

Our General Assembly has killed, in untransparent ways, every single campaign finance bill this session. Let’s get the one bill still standing across the finish line. On Friday, Senator Boysko’s bill (SB377) restricting personal use of campaign funds was passed out of P&E unanimously but then sent to appropriations, where like Marcus Simon’s companion bill, it will die WITHOUT A VOTE!  CTA – Click here to say “Heck No, this bill needs a vote on the floor”. Or call Speaker Don Scott (804-698-1088) and Delegate Torian (804-698-1024) and tell them this bill needs a vote. Questions: nancyruthmorgan@gmail.com
