Meet The Pro-Putin MAGA Republicans Who Voted To Block Aid For Ukraine

Why Are Republicans Siding With Russia?

“Putin is every loser’s image of a winner. And that, for MAGA Republicans party that have now almost explicitly branded itself as the party of angry losers, is an irresistible story…Today’s Republicans are people who care nothing about the future, or about deficits or taxes or national defense, but instead seem to be motivated mostly by an itching sense of inferiority, burdened by resentment and constantly afraid that someone might be looking down on them.

Putin is the model of modern authoritarian, a Mafia boss who has built an empire on money and murder… for GOP voters, Putin is a winner, unlike the boob they bet on in 2016 and 2020. Sure, he’s an avowed enemy of the United States and everything we once stood for, but he’s white, Christian, militaristic, and proud. For people whose identity is now bound up in grievance and fear, what’s not to love?” – The Atlantic

Trump Derails Aid To Ukraine

Trump’s intervention also scuttled a deal to provide American allies, especially Ukraine the financial aid it needs to repel the invasion of Russia, but also financial aid for Israel and Taiwan. Trump claims he can end the war in Ukraine in one day — a promise that has sparked concern from Ukrainian leaders. They fear that Trump’s simplistic plan would involve the U.S. attempting to cede Ukrainian land to Russia. While he was President, many observers have forgotten that there was an ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine on the eastern front. Despite his claimed friendship with Putin he was unable to resolve it. If he could not resolve it then, how can he claim to be able to resolve the war now? – Forbes

Musk delivers for Putin

A top adviser to Ukraine’s president accused Elon Musk of enabling Russian aggression, after the billionaire entrepreneur acknowledged denying satellite internet service in order to prevent a Ukrainian drone attack on a Russian naval fleet last year. CNN reported on an excerpt from Walter Isaacson’s upcoming biography “Elon Musk,” later published by The Washington Post, that said the billionaire had ordered the deactivation of Starlink satellite service near the coast of Crimea last September to thwart the Ukrainian attack. – NY Times
