Super Bowl Celebration Mass Shooting: Mapping Who Killed Missouri’s Gun Safety Laws

Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade shooting claims more than 20 victims
Missouri has some of the loosest gun laws in the nation, and it has preemption laws in place that prevent cities from being forced to take action against gun violence.
And while acts of violence were taking place across the state, Missouri Republicans spent the 2023 legislative session debating numerous bills that would do things like allow carrying concealed weapons on public transportation and in places of worship, eliminate taxes on the sale of firearms and ammunition and allow nonviolent felons to have their gun rights restored. – The Kansas City Beacon

Hold MAGA Republicans accountable
Missouri has extremely weak gun laws, ranked 38th in the country by the nonprofit Everytown for Gun Safety, which noted that the state has “one of the highest rates of gun deaths, gun homicide rates, and household firearm ownership”. Gun owners in the state are not required to obtain a permit to purchase rifles, shotguns, or handguns, do not have to register their firearms or be licensed to own them, and do not need a permit to carry them, according to the National Rifle Association. – The Guardian
TakeAway: Hold MAGA Republicans accountable for weakening gun safety regulations. Vote for President Biden and Democrats to enforce common sense gun safety laws.
