Looking Forward to Do More in ‘24

The Indivisible Yolo newsletter will resume the week of January 8th!

In the meantime, consider updating your volunteer commitments for 2024 using the new volunteer form to let us know how you think you can best help us achieve our electoral goals to re-establish the Blue Trifecta (keeping the White House, holding the Senate and regaining our majority in the House). And be sure to let us know how we can help you become your best self by plugging into the many opportunities for volunteer engagement. We promise to do all we can to center your efforts where they can have the greatest impact.

Join us to register voters at college campuses in Modesto or Turlock

Winning back the House in 2024 is essential to achieving our goals – including saving democracy! – and California Congressional District 13 is one of the key flippable districts which voted for Biden in 2020, yet elected a Republican by the smallest of margins in 2022.

We are focusing on CA-13 to increase voter registration and turnout. Join us in our highly effective and fun group trips to register college students in CA-13. Training and all supplies will be provided.

Indivisible Continues to Call for a Durable Ceasefire and Additional Humanitarian Aid

Please read the Indivisible.org latest statement below calling for all the parties to do everything in in their power to enact a durable ceasefire, and then call your Senators/Representative:

Contact your Senator: Reject Trump-Era Immigration Policies

For months, Senators have been negotiating over what’s called the “supplemental” funding package — additional money the Biden administration requested from Congress to respond to crises around the world. Republicans are playing brazen, dangerous hardball in order to force Trump-era immigration policies in exchange for support for Ukraine, and Democrats are considering caving to their demands.

They haven’t reached a deal yet, but the policies on the table are nothing short of breath-taking: an end to asylum for everyone except the small number of folks who can afford to buy a flight into the U.S., mass deportation — nationwide — without a hearing, and a dramatic increase in the incarceration of asylum-seekers, including families, and a restart to Trump’s signature Title 42 policy.

These policies would be dangerous and harmful enough on their own. But we’re heading into a tough election year with Trump and Trump-acolytes threatening to take back power, we cannot hand them even more tools to inflict their cruel agenda on vulnerable people.

Call your Senator now and tell them to say no to MAGA immigration policies.

Research Team Help Needed

Indivisible Yolo is working every angle to help win CA House Districts in 2024, and we’re looking for people to help on election-year research projects.

We’ll start by helping complete the Blue Voter Guide for California, focusing on the critical Central Valley districts that are essential to regaining control of the House. The Blue Voter Guide is a very popular tool. Voters insert their address and get to see their exact ballot along with endorsing organizations. Young voters, especially, do not like voting blindly and are very appreciative to get this information. When we register students on college campuses, we are able to show them the Blue Voter Guide.

Volunteers are needed to make sure the Blue Voter Guide has information on all races in all jurisdictions. Research can be done on your own time and schedule, there is no minimum commitment. Optional team get togethers will be held to discuss progress and introduce new research projects.

If you are interested in the 2024 Research Team, please let us know using the new 2024 Volunteer Form.

Meet the Candidates series

The road to the House majority runs through California

We have the power, right here in California, to take the Speaker’s gavel out of GOP hands by mobilizing grassroots volunteers statewide. We can do the work to sweep six key seats—five flips and one hold—and stop destructive MAGA stunts. Our state can put Congress back on the path to governing.

The MEET THE CANDIDATE interviews are the first events co-hosted by the brand new California Grassroots Alliance, formed to offer Indivisible and other grassroots volunteers focused six-district strategy, effective tools, and fresh intel. Following each lively 45-minute candidate interview, Indivisible Sonoma County’s Tom Benthin will facilitate a wide-ranging participant discussion about the target district, the candidates, and the election outlook for re-taking the House via California victories.

Bring a friend, list your questions, and get ready to activate!
