Freedom over fascism: Fighting words to frame your message for maximum impact
Pick the right messaging frame to make the most impact.
Framing matters. Especially when mobilizing supporters and persuading the conflicted to defeat fascism and win our freedoms.

Their messaging toolkit provides narratives and guidance on the Trump indictments, upcoming Supreme Court cases as well as other pressing flashpoints to mobilize our base and persuade the conflicted to defeat fascism and win our freedoms.
Overarching narrative
“Americans value our freedoms – our freedom to elect leaders who govern in our name. Multiple grand juries of Americans have indicted the former MAGA President for his criminal conspiracy to defraud, deny and overthrow the will of the people. Yet MAGA Republicans cheer him on and want to overturn our legal system to allow him to get away with it, while they take away our freedoms and rule for the wealthy few. We must come together to ensure all involved are held accountable, so we can protect our country and our freedoms.”
Core messaging principles
- Voters need to see beyond the startling details of whatever is the most recent corruption scandal: they must understand whatever news breaks about justices taking bribes as part of a larger, concerted effort by billionaire-bought justices to rule for the wealthy few while taking our freedoms.
- Voters must understand how breaking Supreme Court news potentially impacts their lives and their livelihoods. Sanguine language about ethics, traditions and norms doesn’t activate voters; sadly, they assume questionable ethics are baked into anything pertaining to politics.
Voters must feel a sense of agency and urgency – thus our descriptors for what’s taking place must lift up how egregious the actions are but without creating a sense of futility anything can ever be different.
- Hammer home the economic impacts. Hearing that MAGA justices “serve the wealthy” resonates and is reinforced by the corruption.
Mentioning overturning Roe v. Wade and taking away our freedom to decide lends credibility and heat to other MAGA attacks on freedom.
