VDARE has long attracted proponents of scientific racism… Other prominent white nationalist contributors include and “Unite the Right” organizer Jason Kessler, who writes regularly for the site about legal issues facing the white nationalists and neo-Nazis who organized the deadly “UNITE THE RIGHT” rally. – SPLC

Dark Money ATM

DonorsTrust’s 2022 990 tax filing reveals that the right-wing “dark money ATM” closely tied to conservative kingpin Leonard Leo bankrolled a number of Southern Poverty Law Center-designated hate groups. The filing shows that DonorsTrust funneled over $250,000 to six hate groups in 2022, including the Family Research Council, David Horowitz Freedom Center, and Thomas More Law Center. – Accountable

Tax deduction for funding hate SPLC designated groups!

In the largest known political advocacy donation in U.S. history, industrialist Barre Seid funded a new group run by Federalist Society co-chair Leonard Leo, who guided Trump’s Supreme Court picks and helped end federal abortion rights.

There are few limitations on how Leo’s new group, the Marble Freedom Trust, can spend the enormous donation. The structure of the donation allowed Seid to avoid as much as $400 million in taxes. Now, Leo, 56, is positioned to finance his already sprawling network with one of the largest pools of political capital in American history. Seid has left his legacy to Leo. – Pro Publica

Donors Trust

Founded in 1999, Donors Trust (and an affiliated group, Donors Capital Fund) has raised north of $500 million and doled out $400 million to more than 1,000 conservative and libertarian groups, according to Whitney Ball, the group’s CEO. Donors Trust allows wealthy contributors who want to donate millions to the most important causes on the right to do so anonymously, essentially scrubbing the identity of those underwriting conservative and libertarian organizations. Wisconsin’s 2011 assault on collective bargaining rights? Donors Trust helped fund that. ALEC, the conservative bill mill? Donors Trust supports it. The climate deniers at the Heartland Institute? They get Donors Trust money, too.
