These are the Missouri Republicans who voted against holding him accountable (Mark Alford, Eric Burlison, Sam Graves, Jason Smith and Blaine Luetkemeyer). Don’t forget these Republican lawmakers in the 2024 Elections.
Santos was expelled over ethics violations, making him only the sixth lawmaker ever kicked out of the chamber. The resolution passed with a tally of 311-114, with 105 Republicans voting in favor. All four top House GOP leaders voted to keep Santos in Congress.

Missouri Supreme Court won’t hear Jay Ashcroft’s appeal of abortion ballot summaries.
The Missouri Supreme Court has denied Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft’s attempt to appeal rulings against his ballot summary for initiative petitions seeking to enshrine the right to abortion in the state constitution. The court also rejected an appeal seeking to reject cost estimates crafted by Auditor Scott Fitzpatrick. The decisions came down Monday evening, less than a week after Ashcroft asked the state’s highest court to take up the case.

Missouri attorney general opposes proposed federal rule supporting LGBTQ foster kids.
The attorneys general argue in a letter to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services that the proposed rule — which requires states to provide safe and appropriate placements with providers who are appropriately trained about the child’s sexual orientation or gender identity — amounts to religion-based discrimination and violates freedom of speech.

New proposals for these programs—collectively called school vouchers—have appeared in more than a dozen states and passed as major priorities for Republican governors like Kim Reynolds in Iowa and Sarah Huckabee Sanders in Arkansas. Since 2021, Arizona, Florida, Utah and West Virginia have also created or expanded voucher plans. Meanwhile, a handful states like Indiana, Louisiana, Ohio and Wisconsin have run voucher programs for years. But do school vouchers actually work? We need to focus on what research shows, and what that means for kids moving forward.
