This week, a Democrat won a TIED election in PA! Every vote really does count.

Tied elections have happened before.

In 1826, Federalist John Sergeant and Jacksonian Henry Horn tied at 1,597 votes for Pennsylvania’s 2nd District, resulting in no winner. Sergeant was elected to Congress in a subsequent special election.

And, in 2017, Republican David Yancey defeated Democrat Shelly Simonds in a tied 11,608-11,608 election by a random drawing that ensured Republicans held the House of Delegates with a 51-49 majority.
