UAW Strike Map and Demands

The UAW Strike expands to more GM and Stellantis locations.

Where are the new strike locations? What are UAW members demanding? How do you share protest details with workers, supporters and the media? How do you make it easy for workers to explain and amplify what they are striking for?

It’s easier with the right apps. I created a Strike Map with ArcGIS Online (about $25/month for nonprofits) using a list of the new strike locations from the Detroit Free Press. Use the LAYER icon to choose whether to see the initial strike locations, the new locations or both. The map can be freely shared with this link https://arcg.is/OzmTW or embedded in any website with this code. “<iframe width=”1080″ height=”720″ frameborder=”0″ scrolling=”no” allowfullscreen src=”https://arcg.is/OzmTW”></iframe>”

Keep your team on the same talking points

The UAW provides a PDF document with their list of demands. This approach has three challenges:
1. A PDF document is hard to read on a phone
2. PDF documents are static. Making a changes to it requires everyone download a new copy
3. Making a public presentation from written text is awkward because you have to look down to read the points

I pasted the list of UAW demands into the BigStage Teleprompter ($5/month to create scripts to share. Free for users). It let’s organizers share their talking points packaged in a free teleprompter app that can be used on a phone, tablet or laptop. Users can adjust the font size and scroll speed and START/STOP the script scrolling. The script with your talking points can be freely shared and revised at any times as demands are changed. You can create scripts for different regions, actions or languages.

Use the BigStage Teleprompter to keep your team on the same talking points.

Keep your extended team on the same talking points with a teleprompter app. It’s easier for them and helps amplify your message when everyone is singing from the same hymn book!
