Independence Week Events – 7/3 with Kendrick Meek, 7/4 BBQ

2 mins read

What better way to celebrate our independence than talking about democracy and protecting our freedoms? We’re halfway through 2023 and we’re bringing local Democrats together again as we prepare for an intense election cycle in 2024.

On Monday, July 3rd, former congressman Kendrick Meek will be joining the Miami-Dade Young Democrats for their first in-person meeting of the year. All are welcome, and there will be drinks, light bites, and the company of fellow friends and advocates.

Congressman Meek brings a wealth of political experience, having served in the U.S. House of Representatives, Florida State Legislature, and was nominated as Special Representative to the United Nations by President Barack Obama.

More details and RSVP

And then during the day on Tuesday, July 4, various clubs are uniting to throw a special BBQ at Larry and Penny Thompson Park. Food and beverages to be provided.
