African American Committee: Black History Month with Taste the Diaspora Detroit

Wednesday, February 8th (6pm)

Join us for a conversation with Taste the Diaspora Co-founders Jermond Booze, Ederique Goudia, and Raphael Wright. This year’s initiative is celebrating the food, culture, and contributions of the African diaspora by bringing awareness to how African Americans, for decades, have utilized food to resist historic and ongoing oppression.

Taste the Diaspora Detroit (TDD) is returning for its third year with shoebox lunches, merchandise, community collaborations, pop-ups, cooking demonstrations, and more! This year’s theme of Black Food as Resistance will foster a consciousness around food and its critical role in the fight for Black liberation.

Waterford Democratic Club: Monthly Meeting

Wednesday, February 8th (7pm)

Pontiac Mayor Tim Greimel will be a special guest speaker at this month’s meeting. All Waterford Democratic Club members, their families and friends are encouraged to join us!

Michigan Democratic Party: 2023 Spring Convention

The Democratic Electors of the State of Michigan are hereby notified that by the direction of the Michigan Democratic State Central Committee, the 2023 Spring State Convention of the Michigan Democratic Party will be held at Huntington Place in Detroit, Michigan on Saturday, February 11, 2023. At our February meeting, we will celebrate Black History Month, by hearing from Rev. Charles Williams II, President of the National Action Network Michigan Chapter, and The Pastor of the King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church.
