OCDP Executive Committee Meeting

Tuesday, January 10th (7pm – 9pm)

The 2023-2024 Executive Committee will convene for the first time on Tuesday, January 10th at 7pm. The Executive Committee will hear reports from the Chair, Treasurer, and Committees, and host our guest speaker Ed Sarpolus, Founder & Executive Director of Target Insyght. 

Troy Democratic Club: Annual Holiday Party

Friday, January 13th (6:30pm – 7:30pm)

Join us for our annual holiday party on Friday, January 13th at Lebanese Grill in Troy. After several years of being apart due to the pandemic, we are thrilled to come together and celebrate our hopes for 2023 and beyond. We look forward to seeing you all! RSVP and tickets are required.

6th Congressional District Convention

Saturday, January 14th (12pm)

The 6th Congressional District Convention will convene virtually via Zoom on Saturday, January 14th at 12 pm. Please register using this form (6th Congressional District Convention Registration Form – Google Forms) at least 24 hours before the Convention. A zoom link will be sent to your email before the convention.

Ferndale Area Democratic Club: Monthly Meeting

Monday, January 16th (7pm – 8pm)

In light of the fact that our January 16th meeting is taking place on the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, we have a guest presentation on the significance of the passage of the Promote the Vote ballot proposals of 2018 and this year’s general election.  Kevin Deegan-Krause, Professor of Political Science at Wayne State University, will speak on what these victories mean for the preservation and enhancement of voting rights in Michigan. *A friendly reminder that if you have not yet paid your $10.00 club dues for 2023, time is of the essence! Our Treasurer, Josh Miller, will be collecting dues at both our January and February meetings. If for any reason you cannot make it to either of these meetings, then please contact Josh by email (joshjmiller82@gmail.com) to make payment arrangements. Anyone who considers themself to be a Democrat may attend our monthly meetings; but only those who keep up-to-date on dues may participate in voting on club business (including the June election of the e-board).*

Birmingham-Bloomfield Area Democratic Club (BBAD): Monthly MeetingTuesday, January 17th (6:30pm socializing; 7pm meeting)The Birmingham-Bloomfield Area Dems are holding their first meeting of 2023 on January 17th at 7pm. Guest Speakers: 1) Emme Zanotti and Amritha Venkataraman from the “#Hate Won’t Win Coalition” 2) Allen Wolf, Birmingham Bloomfield Area Democratic Club’s Precinct Delegate Liaison, will present “Analysis of the 2022 Election in Our Club Area.”

Oak Park/Huntington Woods/Royal Oak Twp. (OPHW) Democratic Club: Monthly Meeting 

Thursday, January 19th (7pm – 8:30pm)

We will be having our Officer and Executive Board election Thursday January 19, 2023. The meeting will be held in person at the Oak Park Community Center 14300 Oak Park Blvd. Room C from 7-8:30 pm. We look forward to seeing you there.

OCDP January ConventionSaturday, January 21st (12pm – 2pm)Ahead of the Michigan Democratic Party’s 2023 Spring Convention in February, it is our duty to nominate delegates to the State Convention Committees (Credentialing, Resolutions, and Rules) and consider resolutions to send to the State Party. The OCDP will convene on January 21st to select the following delegates:

7th Congressional District

one (1) male member to CREDENTIALING

9th Congressional District 

one (1) male alternate to CREDENTIALING

one (1) female member to RESOLUTIONS

one (1) female member to RULES

10th Congressional District

one (1) female alternate to CREDENTIALING

one (1) male alternate to RESOLUTIONS

one (1) female member to RULES


The OCDP Convention will be held in-person at Plumbers Local 98. There is no virtual option. If you have any concerns regarding event accessibility, please reach out to Claudia Luckenbach-Boman at staff@ocdp.org.
