- STOP GEORGE SANTOS’ WEB OF LIESOver the holidays, more and more of Congressman George Santos’ (R-NY) lies have been revealed, with new falsehoods coming out at a stunning pace. If we are constituents in NY-03, let’s call on him to resign. If we are outside NY-03, let’s ask our representatives to call for his resignation.
- PRESERVE BLACK HISTORY IN OUR CHILDREN’S TEXTBOOKS Ron DeSantis and Florida officials are trying to censor and erase Black history from education. In March, a bill was passed censoring discussions about slavery and oppression, and in April, the Florida Department of Education rejected almost half of the math textbooks for the next academic year because they included information about Black mathematicians and ethnically diverse names. Accurate representation in education is important for the success and confidence of Black students and for providing a well-rounded education for all students. Without it, Black communities are marginalized and subjected to misinformation, which can have harmful consequences. We can check out this link to learn more and then demand that textbook publishers, including McGraw Hill, publicly commit to never yielding to demands to erase Black history from their materials.
- PROTECT MEDICARE AS WE KNOW IT
This month, the Biden administration is set to implement its version of a Trump-era Medicare program. Known as ACO REACH, the program is aimed at traditional Medicare. It will incentivize private for-profit health care managers to restrict patient care, and automatically enroll patients into ACO REACH without their consent. A group of lawmakers led by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) have complained to the federal agency overseeing the program that a number of companies admitted into ACO REACH have a history of Medicare, Medicaid, and VA fraud. Let’s (1) tell President Biden to issue an executive order to stop Medicare ACO REACH, and (2) tell our Members of Congress to pass legislation ending ACO REACH and protect traditional Medicare from schemes that favor profit maximization over patient care.
- SUPPORT CONSTITUTIONAL CHAMPION JAMIE RASKINLast week, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) announced he has been diagnosed with a serious but curable form of cancer, and will soon begin chemo-immunotherapy. The Congressman has been a fierce advocate for our Constitution, and fought for accountability as a manager in Trump’s second impeachment trial and on the January 6th Committee. He’s always had our country’s back, let’s show him we have his and send him our best wishes for his fight.

- VA House of Delegates District 24. This seat opened up when Ronnie Campbell (R) died in December, and Democrat Jade Harris needs our help. Although it’s a red district, turnout is expected to be low, with only 1,000 voters projected, so we have a real chance to flip this seat if we act now. Harris will fight to protect abortion rights, reduce gun violence, support LGBTQ+ rights, care for impoverished families, and support mental health initiatives.
