The Oakland County Democratic Party thanks the Veterans of the United States Armed Forces for their services to our nation.

Today is Veterans Day. Veterans are those who risk their lives every day to protect the world and make it a better place. In America, Veterans promise our freedom and security. Veterans Day is a good reminder that our freedom is not guaranteed. It is protected by the men and women in our Armed Services, first and foremost. But let us not forget that we, too, have a duty to maintain our freedom, peace and democracy. We do this by voting for leaders who demonstrate a commitment to democracy, and by pressuring our government to ensure Veterans and their families receive eligible benefits and care. This Veterans Day, please take a moment to remember all of those who protect our freedom and security each and every day. Today, I join with many to thank the past and present Veterans of the United States Armed Forces.
