Dear Friends,
I’ve been thinking about what I want to offer on occasional Tuesdays. I’m sticking with my original idea which is to bring you events or actions that are time sensitive and can’t wait until Thursday’s BADASS Briefing, or are really important. That being said, please be sure to forward to as many friends as possible after reading a few tidbits at this critical moment for Virginia and the nation.
I’m going with the most important first, which is, we are in the last stretch of our race for democracy and freedom and WE NEED TO PICK UP THE PACE AND WIN! We need to remind everyone what is on the ballot in November and to VOTE NOW.
The Virginia Grassroots is excited to announce our colorful #pinkthevote to #pinkvirginia campaign: with car magnets, yardsigns, social media graphics, and lots more ideas here: #pinkthevote to #

Out of Politics: Tuesday, October 10th at 6 pm. Zoom link for 6pm.
Agenda:
- Democracy day planning: (Citizens Report, briefs, sign on letter, petition, social media intern, etc)
- Status of legislation. Many of the same bills will be introduced as last year (see list here). Plus Del Watts will be introducing our resolution supporting a constitutional amendment. Also, we’ve gotten some drafts from Senator Petersen on his limitation bills.
- Building up an advocacy model for key legislation: Brainstorming.
- Outreach.
- How to follow legislation in the General Assembly: Brief Introduction to LISVA.

“Even though Democrats passed the single most consequential climate justice bill in history—only 24% of Americans view it positively.
That’s the power of MAGA misinformation. At Common Purpose, we do not sit idle on Climate Justice. We need to change the MAGA narrative and the best way to do so is to arm yourself with facts. Take this 1 question poll—then share the link with your network on social media.”
