ALL IN to Win!
– BADASS Headquarters, VA Beach
With all eyes on Hampton Roads this election, this week’s Friday Power Lunch is going to look at what is happening in this crucial region of the state. REGISTER
We will start with a conversation with three badass Hampton Roads activists. Susan Potter, Susan Kaufman, and Heidi Dragneff will share the grassroots perspective on the candidates, the issues, and what they are hearing from the voters.
Then we will talk to members of the Virginia Beach Democratic Committee – Maurice Hawkins (VP Precincts and Election), Michael Feggans (Vice Chair OF Operations and Candidate HD 97), and Susan Hippen (Secretary and Candidate, HD 96) – on what the local Democratic committees are doing to excite supporters and energize voters.
With everything from women’s reproductive rights to Democracy itself being on the ballot, this election is grounded in many fundamental issues. Friday Power Lunch Co-Host Finale Norton will start us off talking about the key issues in Hampton Roads by discussing voting rights and the importance of the black vote this election.
Finale will then be joined by Susan Loesberg (MOMs Demand Action) for a conversation on how gun violence prevention is on the ballot.
Delegate Kelly Convirs-Fowler will talk about the attacks on the LGBTQ Community.
And finally, we will discuss the #1 issue this election, women’s reproductive rights. With veterans being a key constituent in the Hampton Roads areas, veteran Heidi Dragneff will share with us how the gutting of Roe v Wade is impacting current and former military families.
We’ll end the show with a conversation with Del. Nadarius Clark (HD 79) who will share with us how what happens in Hampton Roads in 2022 will shape the 2023 stateside election in Virginia.
Join us for a look at what it will take to be ALL IN to WIN in Hampton Roads.
n 2020, 34% of eligible voters didn’t vote. In this training, you’ll learn how to make “I don’t
vote” the beginning of the conversation, not the end. Dr. Jacqueline Tulsky and Elizabeth Chur
share success stories and give you tools inspired by Motivational Interviewing to help you draw
out “high-potential voters,” elicit their desires for change, and turn them into voters. Whether
you’re new to canvassing and phone banking or have been doing it for years, this interactive
training is designed for you. Take it from a recent attendee who raved: “Superb. I have been to a
lot of meetings and training in 53 years as an activist, but this might have been the most useful.”

Join for a special evening with Steve Descano, Commonwealth Attorney for Fairfax, to learn why some Virginia prosecutors have pledged to not prosecute anyone who seeks or provides abortions that would have been legal under Roe v. Wade. Mr. Descano will discuss the power of his office to help those seeking abortion care.
In Virginia, several Commonwealth Attorneys, including three from Northern Virginia-–Steve Descano, Parisa Dehghani-Tafti, and Buta Biberaj–have openly declared they will refuse to enforce any law restricting women’s rights to reproductive health. Steve Descano will join us at this event to discuss his position and plan for supporting women during this extreme setback to our rights and freedoms.
