How do you present the facts so they are easy to understand? Organize information so it’s easy to search and share? Pick the right symbols and colors for your message? Make it easy for people to read on a phone, tablet or laptop?
This infographic features twenty of President Biden’s major successes with details of how it benefits all Americans. This blog explains how to present data persuasively with infographics.

Making sense of it all
- How do you break up a lot of information so it can be understood without demanding a lot of effort from the reader. Articles pack a lot of information but require time and effort from the reader. Static images add color but often miss a lot of the details.
- A dynamic infographic like PRESIDENT BIDEN DELIVERS combines the best of both. It features images to present information at first glance along with details as text and images once the reader make a selection.
- Presenting all the information together can be overwhelming and may discourage readers. So it’s better to present the information in a layered manner. More details appear as the reader clicks on a topic that interests them.
- Provide a short summary along with a link to the original article lets readers get as much details as they want.
- How much information should you present? It’s a balancing act. Include too much information and people will be turned off. Put too little information and readers will think it is fluff. This infographic was intentionally capped at twenty major successes, though a lot more could have been included.
- Make your content easy to search. Readers may be looking for a specific topic or keyword and need to find it quickly.
- Incorporate different types of data – text, images, GIFs, PDFs, videos and audio files.
- Make your infographic easy to read on different types of devices such as phones, tablets and laptops. We used the free Kumu app to design this infographic as it automatically adjusts to the reader’s device.
Organize information into groups
President Biden has had lots of successes. After we narrowed the list to twenty items, the next step was to organize them into logical groups. We chose:
- Infrastructure
- Healthcare
- Jobs
- International
- Public interest
- Equal right
Each of these groups have three items. Two items that didn’t fit into these groups (Climate change and Electoral Count) were kept as separate items. We made the relative size of each icon somewhat proportional to its importance.

Choose the right color
Colors evoke emotions, inspire reactions, and change modes of thinking. It can excite or soothe your mood, raise or lower your blood pressure, and even whet your appetite! Whether it’s innate or learned, it’s undeniable that color has a vital impact on how we go about our lives. Color is far from just a visual experience; it can affect your mood, your wants, and reactions. We feel color. How or what we feel about it varies from person to person. Some colors give us a sense of serenity and calm; these usually lie within the blue side of the spectrum-that consists of purple and green too, known as the cool side. Others induce rage and make us uncomfortable, or signify passion; these lie within the red spectrum-which includes orange and yellow, known as the warm side. – Color Psychology
- Red is the most evocative colors. It is associated with energy, war, danger, strength, power, determination as well as passion, desire, and love. It attracts attention more than any other color, at times signifying danger.
- Blue is associated with a calm serenity over intensity or passion. When asked to visualize a tranquil scene, chances are people will immediately imagine a great deal of blue – usually in the form of a still body of water. Thoughtful and still, blue represents a sense of inner reflection. A great deal of research has indicated that this impact on the body is indeed inverse to red’s, resulting in lower heart rates and even slower metabolisms.
- Black is highly versatile and depends on how it is used. It denotes strength and authority; it is considered to be a very formal, elegant, and prestigious color.
- White is highly creative, and it invites reflection, openness, and awakening. It is a great color for those who want to declutter their minds and spaces, hence why it is often associated with cleanliness and order. The bridal dress and the doctor’s uniforms are also white because they represent purity, order, and offer comfort and hope. Similarly, white is also largely found in doctor’s offices because it gives a sense of efficiency and perfect cleanliness, which helps patients build trust in the services offered by doctors.
