Defend Democracy!
“I would’ve never guessed that my job as governor…was going to be mainly about making sure that our democracy is still intact in this state.”
–Tony Evers, Governor of Wisconsin
Booting RonJon out of the Senate would be wonderful. However, the most important races in Wisconsin are to re-elect Gov Tony Evers and ensure that Republicans do not gain a veto-proof majority in the state legislature. In June, SCOTUS ensured that Wisconsinites must live with arguably the most gerrymandered state legislative map in the country for another 10 years.
Join Lean Left in supporting Gov Evers’ campaign as well as two fragile State Assembly candidates–Lee Snodgrass and Tip McGuire.
The Republicans in WI are still trying to overturn the 2020 election. If they were to take the governor’s office, there would be no end to the voter suppression measures that they would enact.
Even GA Gov. Brian Kemp knew there was a line not to be crossed regarding the validity of 2020 election results. He stood by GA results that handed GA electoral votes to Joe Biden. None of the Republicans looking to challenge Tony Evers for the Wisconsin governorship would hesitate to toss results they don’t like.
If Tony Evers falls, so does the state of Wisconsin. Republicans would have a trifecta and would use it to turn it into the Florida of the Midwest. Tony Evers’ veto is the only thing that has stopped them so far. He must win, and we must ensure that Republicans do not gain a veto-proof majority in the state legislature.

Our summer days are crammed with family, work, and friends. The days are also filled with news about how the midterm election will determine whether our nation can strengthen our democracy or lose it.
If you want to work on the election but your time is limited, and you’d like to work with a supportive group of people, join us at the PowerHour, being held every Sunday until election day from 3 to 5 PM. This Sunday (August 7), we’ll be calling friendly Dems in NC and NH to sign them up to be poll observers and staff for hotlines. Easiest calls you’ll ever make and a good intro to the work we’ll be doing this Fall. Believe us, you’ll feel better all week!
Sign up here and let us know you’re coming!
Questions about PowerHours? Which action should you choose? Need tech help or a refresher on the calling tools we’ll be using? We have North Carolina Office Hours on Friday, August 5, 12, and 19, at 3 pm. Use this link to drop in for help. For help with New Hampshire actions, contact Rebecca.
