UPCOMING EVENTS:

On Tuesday, July 19, the S.C. House of Representatives will hold their second and final Ad Hoc Committee meeting to discuss their proposed bill to ban abortion.

We need to get loud outside the Blatt Building, where the meeting is taking place, to make sure our voices are heard.

Show Up for Abortion Justice

Take action: Noon – 2:00 p.m.

S.C. State House, Columbia

Signing up will allow us to contact you about details and logistics for the day and communicate any updates prior to the event, like where to park and what to do if there’s inclement weather. We won’t share your information with anyone.

South Carolina House lawmakers have shamefully cut off public testimony as they consider legislation to take away our reproductive freedom, but we will not be ignored. We need you in this fight.

See you next week at the State House!

100 Days Out — Day of Action on July 30

From the SCDP:

We will be 100 days away from the November 8 election soon, and we are excited to kick off our voter engagement effort – Organize. Connect. Vote. 2022.

We will announce publicly a statewide day of action next week. This day of action will be on Saturday, July 30, 2022, and we will begin recruiting volunteers to make phone calls, canvass, and texts by the end of next week as well.

In addition, we will collect school supplies to be distributed locally as part of Lisa Ellis’ call for us to invest in children as part of our day of action. Each county party will be provided 25 backpacks to fill with donated school supplies (it would be fantastic if every county could fill 100 backpacks). If you need additional backpacks, let me know, and I’ll get you more. You can distribute those filled backpacks in your county to any public elementary school you choose.

Contact Teresa with our Membership Action Team if you’d like to help! lcdpscmembership@gmail.com
