OCDP Women’s Rights Committee: Break Down of the Ballot
Wednesday, June 22nd (5:30pm – 6:30pm)
There are fewer than 10 days until the first deadline for petition signatures! Join us tonight to learn about the Reproductive Freedom for All ballot proposal and how you can collect signatures. Guest speakers Bonsitu Kitaba (Deputy Legal Director, ACLU) and Lance Gable (Professor, WSU School of Law) will discuss the legal implications of the possible overturn of Roe v. Wade and how the Reproductive Freedom for All ballot initiative would codify reproductive rights in Michigan. To learn more about this ballot initiative and others, visit here.
OCDP Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee Meeting
Thursday, June 23rd (6:00pm – 7:00pm)
Join the OCDP’s DEI Committee this Thursday, June 23rd for special guest speaker Michele Smythe of Moms Demand Action and later discussion on gun violence prevention. We will also discuss Goodwill Ambassadors, or individuals wanting to develop relationships between the OCDP and various cultural and communal organizations within Oakland County. The Southfield/Lathrup Village Democratic Club (SLVDC) regular monthly meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 23rd at 7:00 pm. OCDP LGBTQIA+ Rights Committee: Meet the Candidates

Join the OCDP LGBTQIA+ Committee for our June meeting at 215 West in Fabulous Ferndale! We’ve invited several Democratic LGBTQ+ candidates running for offices that cover all or part of Oakland County to attend this month’s meeting to talk about their campaigns. If you’re interested in volunteering for a local campaign, then this will be the meeting for you!
OCDP Education Subcommittee Meeting

Social Justice Advocate and Michigan State Board of Education Official Dr. Pamela Pugh will be joining us this Friday evening to discuss the future of Michigan’s education and the protective measures we can take today. If you’ve had enough of the book banning and teacher shaming, join us and hear how we can work together to make a difference. It’s time to get back to educating our children and ensuring that we have the right candidates who tell the truth and listen to our communities.

Senator Rosemary Bayer: House Party

Hi everyone! Please join us on Sunday, June 26th from 4:00-5:30pm to meet gun violence prevention champion Sen. Rosemary Bayer and our special guest U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow! They will discuss updates on gun violence prevention in D.C. and Lansing. With redistricting, Rosemary is now running in our newly formed MI Senate District 13. We need to flip four seats in the MI Senate to gain a majority and ours has been deemed The Most Flippable! – Linda Larsen & Jenn Garland
Birmingham-Bloomfield Democratic Club: Candidate Forum

The Birmingham-Bloomfield Dems Club is holding a Candidate Forum for candidates in Congressional District 12: Rashida Talib, Kelly Garrett, Janice Winfrey and Shannelle Jackson.
