May 23: IC-SS Candidates Forum in Hyde Park
Do you live in Illinois’s 1st Congressional District and plan to vote in the Democratic primary? If so, you know you’ll need to choose from a long list of candidates!
Join us for our IL-01 Candidates Forum to be held in Hyde Park at the First Unitarian Church from 6:00-9:00 pmMonday, May 23. You’ll hear from Democratic candidates running in the June primary, hoping to win the seat currently held by retiring Rep. Bobby Rush. Register here.
This Hyde Park forum is being organized by Indivisible Chicago-South Side. Candidates appearing in the forum will meet the criteria of being registered with the Federal Elections Commission and certified by the Illinois State Board of Elections to appear on the Democratic primary ballot. May 10: NWV Candidates Forum in Englewood
New date and place! Neighbors Who Vote has announced that its IL-01 Candidates Forum in Englewood will be held at Freedom Temple COGIC, 1459 W. 74th St. on the evening of Monday, May 10, beginning promptly at 7:00 pm. (Doors open 6:00 pm; please be seated by 6:45.)

Prison Reform: Join Rainbow PUSH, CAARPR on May 7
On Saturday May 7th, Rainbow PUSH Coalition and CAARPR announce an in-person symposium on the issues facing inmates at Menard prison and across IDOC (the Illinois Dept of Corrections). Hear from people recently released from Menard and the loved ones of those still held there.
