CALL TO ACTION: Save Climate and Clean Energy Legislative Gains.  EASY “One Click” Letter to Your Senator.

Ask Democratic Senators to STAND STRONG on Climate and Clean Energy legislation. Many Republicans intend to roll back gains from the last 2 years and return to fossil fuels. Tell your senator any amendments to, or attempts to, repeal the Virginia Clean Economy Act (VCEA), Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), and Clean Car Standards are unacceptable. Governor-Elect Youngkin has publicly stated his intent to repeal RGGI and there are some very scary, high powered Republican organizations seeking to repeal the VCEA. See Suburban Virginia Republican Coalition

NARAL is seeking volunteers

Did you know that one of the biggest barriers to abortion in Virginia is transportation? In Virginia, the average person must travel more than 20 miles to the nearest clinic to receive abortion care. This burden can affect how people receive the time sensitive medical care they need.

To help alleviate this burden, NARAL launched the Practi-Cab program in the Spring of 2021, in partnership with local abortion funds and Richmond Reproductive Freedom Project. Practi-Cab is a volunteer-led network that provides transportation to and from people’s abortion appointments as well as emotional support.

All volunteers receive an abortion doula training from RRFP, a stipend, and will work within regional teams.
They are currently looking for:5 Volunteers in the Southwest region4 Volunteers in the Richmond area3 Volunteers in the Northern Virginia area
