JOB #1, OTHER THAN ENDING THE FILIBUSTER
In 1858, while debating slavery, Abraham Lincoln said,
“Public sentiment is everything. With public sentiment, nothing can fail; without it, nothing can succeed. Consequently he who molds public sentiment goes deeper than he who enacts statutes or pronounces decisions. He makes statutes and decisions possible or impossible to be executed.”
Talked to a neighbor recently? Written a Letter to the Editor? We ARE the public, and WE are the antidote to those who would try to adversely mold public sentiment using fear and misinformation.

Eviction Tsunami is looming despite Congress passing $46 billion in rental relief – Laura Clawson, from Daily KosThe federal eviction moratorium ends July 31, and when it does, millions of people will be at risk of being thrown out of their homes. Congress has passed $46 billion in rental assistance, but much of that money remains unspent, while families count the days until eviction notices go out.The December COVID-19 relief bill included $25 billion in rental assistance. As of the end of May, just $1.5 billion had been spent. There’s even $425 million from the March 2020 CARES Act that still hasn’t made it to renters.

States are in charge of paying out these funds. And more than half of renters don’t know that rental assistance is available.
If a renter qualifies, CERA (Covid Emergency Rental Assistance) can pay back rent and utilities, PLUS several months going forward. A serious boost to get out of the hole of Covid!
