Thanks to money from the American Rescue Plan’s expanded Child Tax Credit, families will be able to give their kids a stronger, healthier start on their path to a promising future. Child Tax Credit payments start rolling out July 15.
Help spread the word to:
- Promote the Child Tax Credit
- Uplift the rollout of payments beginning July 15
- Build momentum for extending and expanding the Child Tax Credit for years to come
The American Rescue Plan’s extended Child Tax Credit is the result of people joining together, working hard, showing up, turning out and electing leaders who care and pass good policies that help people, especially those disadvantaged by racism and injustice. President Joe Biden is delivering on his promise to invest in families with the rollout of the American Rescue Plan’s expanded Child Tax Credit payments starting TODAY. The Child Tax Credit puts money in the hands of American families and will lift millions of children out of poverty, especially Black, Hispanic, Asian American and Pacific Islander, and Indigenous children.
As President Biden said:
"For working families with children, this tax cut sends a clear message: help is here."
The Child Tax Credit will provide critical financial support to almost 90% of children; no income is required to qualify and the Child Tax Credit will not affect immigration status, SNAP, TANF, SSI or other federally funded benefits. Families will receive up to $3,600 for each child up through age 5 and $3,000 for each child aged 6 to 17. Monthly payments of $250-300 per child begin July 15 and will continue through December. The balance of the money will be paid after taxes are filed in 2022.
The Child Tax Credit will have a profound, long-lasting impact on children and families. The money provides families the boost they need to stay in their homes, put food on the table, pay bills, cover healthcare expenses, and more. The Child Tax Credit will give kids a stronger start on their path toward a bright and promising future.
While many of us believe in our kids and the invaluable benefits of the American Rescue Plan’s Child Tax Credit, some politicians don’t. Every single Republican in Congress voted against the American Rescue Plan. But we prevailed. Let’s keep the Child Tax Credit going and growing. The Child Tax Credit expires at the end of this year but we want to extend and expand it. With your help, we can build momentum so that Congress takes action on the Child Tax Credit. Imagine the possibilities of investing in our children for years to come. Today’s kids are tomorrow’s leaders, teachers, scientists, entrepreneurs, tradesmen, artists, engineers, veterinarians… Every child has hopes and dreams. Together, along with the Child Tax Credit, we can help them come true!
