WAYS TO GET INVOLVED

We hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend! This week we wanted to focus on how people can get involved. You can read below about how you can #StockTheBox with the Blessing Box located at the CCDP Office. Additionally, our office is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11 AM to 3 PM and on Saturdays from 10 AM to 4 PM. You can volunteer through the top button.

Additionally, we are having our second Voter Registration Drive next Saturday, July 17th, in two highly-Democratic, low-voter-turn-out North Charleston precincts. We will ask voters what issues are important to them and will tell them about the Democrats and the North Area Democratic club. You can sign up through the bottom button.

BLESSING BOX UPDATE

Please consider donating to our CCDP Blessing Box. You can #StockTheBox at any time, or drop off items to the office during office hours or by appointment. Our community members appreciate and depend on our kindness!

A few things to remember when donating food items:

  • Please DO donate non-perishable items that will hold up in the heat
  • Please DO donate small personal care items that will fit in the blessing box
  • Please DO NOT donate any open or expired food items.

Thanks again for your generosity!

SC DHEC HOMEBOUND COVID-19 VACCINATION PROGRAM

SC DHEC has launched a homebound COVID-19 vaccination program in all 46 South Carolina counties through December! In order to participate, you just call 1-866-365-8110 between 7 AM and 7 PM any day of the week. You will need to provide your name, date of birth, and address to a call line operator, who will then connect you with either Welcome Pharmacy or H&M Labs. A representative from the provider will call you within a few days to schedule your appointment. One caretaker per homebound individual is also eligible to receive a vaccine. For more information about receiving the COVID-19 vaccine from SC DHEC click here.

Message from the Chair

“Do what is easy and your life will be hard. Do what is hard and your life will become easy.”
— Les Brown

It’s easy to just sit and do nothing about the issues that we’re experiencing in South Carolina. But we’re Democrats and we will do what is hard to make certain that we defend the welfare and interest of everyone in our state.

We need your time, treasure and talent. We need you donating and knocking on doors. With your help, we will turn this state blue. You can use the button below to donate and help support CCDP and elect Democrats!

Democratically yours,

Greg Perry
Chair of Charleston County Democratic Party

Sat July 17, 10am

Voter Registration Drive

We got rained out in June, but we’re headed back to North Charleston in July! Help us plant and nourish our grassroots in two highly-Democratic, low-voter-turn-out precincts. We’ll meet at 10am and, after brief instructions, form teams (each team with an experienced canvasser), then head out to the neighborhoods. We’ll listen to folks tell us what’s important to them, we’ll tell them about the Democrats, we’ll introduce them to the North Area Democratic club, and WE’LL REGISTER PEOPLE TO VOTE.

Sat July 27, 6:30pm

Sea Island Democrats July Virtual Meeting

Join the Sea Island Democrats for our July meeting! We will review the 2020 election results and 2022 outlook so be sure to come learn how you can get involved as we work to register voters and engage with those living on the Sea Islands! Also, come and network with other Democrats in the area. Sign up on Mobilize and you’ll receive Zoom meeting information.

SCDP: READY TO RUN FOR OFFICE?

If you are interested in making a difference in your community, please take time to consider running for office. The South Carolina Democratic Party has put out a form for individuals to express interest in running. You may think that it is too early to start thinking about this, but electoral success will require carefully laid out plans, which in turn require time. You can access the link via the button below.
