A Letter From
Okaloosa Dems Chair Tracey Tapp
Dear Fellow Democrats,
I’m writing because our democracy is in danger. But I know that if we unite around the values of protecting our democracy and electing leaders who work for everyday people, we can accomplish great things.
Here is what we are up against. Our own Congressman Matt Gaetz is under investigation for sex crimes and obstruction of justice, and instead of working for constituents, he is touring the country with conspiracy theorist Marjorie Taylor Greene. And Governor Ron DeSantis recently signed Florida Senate Bill 90 (SB90), which will make voting more difficult for hundreds of thousands of Floridians, many of them elderly, disabled, and people of color. Learn more about SB90.
If Matt Gaetz is removed from office there will be a special election. We need to start mobilizing NOW. Okaloosa Democrats are ready to fight and have a proven track record:
From 2016 to 2020 Vote-by-Mail ballots cast for Democrats increased by 271%.
During that same time Okaloosa County was #1 in Florida for shifting votes from red to blue.
These gains were made possible by more than 200 donors and 175 volunteers!
