Presidential Inaugural Committee Events
The Presidential Inaugural Committee asked and we answered! Coconino Democrats will engage in service events on January 18 to honor MLK Day, remember those lost to COVID on January 19, and join the nation on the morning of January 20 to watch the Inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
Thousands of organizations around the country will join in similar events at the invitation of the Presidential Inaugural Committee. Here’s what we are doing in Coconino County:
National Day of Service
Coconino Democrats jumped into action to organize service events! On Monday we will collect donations at drop points around the county — so clean out your closets and get out your checkbooks to help those in need. Read on for info on collection points around Flagstaff, in Page, and in Williams.
In Flagstaff, we have 5 locations. Check the graphic below for hours. Here is Flagstaff Family Food Bank’s list of most needed items: peanut butter, canned vegetables, tuna, and other protein, pasta, canned soup, cereal, granola bars, and $$$.

In addition to those locations in the Flagstaff area, our volunteers and the Mayor of Page, Bill Diak, will hold a collection point at Page City Hall from 1-3 pm on January 18. The Page donations will benefit the Page food bank. Enter the city parking lot from Vista and exit Parking lot on Lake Powell Blvd. Suggested items: Peanut butter, Rice, Canned fish, Canned meat, Spam, Chili, Oatmeal, Pinto beans dried or cans, Kraft Mac and cheese, Pasta Annie’s shells and white cheddar, Penne and four cheeses.
Williams Democrats have come up with their own service project to benefit pets in need in honor of pets returning to the White House. This will extend beyond January 18.

COVID Memorial
On January 19 at 3:30 pm MST, we have asked any church or other building with a bell to join with others around the Nation to ring in memory of the hundreds of thousands of Americans we have lost to COVID. In parts of the country where darkness will have fallen, buildings will be illuminated. We also ask that you share this graphic on your social media and print it to place in your windows at home.
