FLORIDA– The Florida Democratic Party has a question for Senator Rick Scott, Senator Marco Rubio, Representative Michael Waltz, Representative Neal Dunn, Representative Daniel Webster, Representative Gus Bilirakis, Representative Vern Buchanan, Representative Greg Steube, Representative Mario Diaz Balart, Representative Carlos Gimenez, and Representative Maria Elvira Salazar:  “Will you vote to uphold democracy and certify the general election results tomorrow January 6th or will you stand on the side of autocracy and conspiracy theories?

“We know that many of your Republican colleagues, including members of the Florida delegation, have already said that they will be putting a Trump autocracy over country, but Floridians deserve to know if you will be supporting American democracy, or be voting in favor of autocracy.”

For reference the Florida Republicans who have indicated that they will be voting in favor of conspiracy theories and autocracy on January 6th are: Representative Brian Mast, Representative Kat Cammack, Representative Byron Donalds, Representative Scott Franklin, Representative John Rutherford, Representative Matt Gaetz, and Representative Bill Posey.

Florida Democrats believe in effective and efficient government that prioritizes quality education, affordable health care, and an economy in which anyone who works hard can succeed.

Most importantly, we believe that we are stronger together. We believe the fundamental American promise — that you can go as far as your own hard work will take you — should shine brightest in Florida.

That is why we champion the middle class and cherish the principle that all Floridians should have the opportunity to work hard and succeed. That is why we will never stop fighting for better public schools, because education is the surest path to a better life for millions.

From standing for affordable health care and better schools to fighting for civil rights and access to the ballot box, Florida Democrats are leading every day to move our state forward.
