Today is the day that we ask Gov. Doug Ducey to honor and protect all citizens of Arizona and those front line workers who are putting their lives on the line.

- Ask the Governor to immediately implement a mask protocol for ALL of Arizona. (suggested language below).
- Additionally, post a request to the Governor’s Facebook Page or send him a Tweet.
- Share this request with your friends and any groups or associations that you are a member of.
Feel free to use or amend the following language in your emails, letters, posts or tweets. Don’t forget to personalize an intro with something about yourself, such as “My name is Peter Prescott and I am writing as a concerned citizen and owner of the PP Call Center in Prescott, AZ” or “My name is RoBerta Ginsberg and I am writing as a concerned citizen and a member of the Arizona Justice Association.”
Arizona is experiencing a significant surge in COVID-19 infections that shows no sign of slowing. Only six of Arizona’s 15 counties require masks. ASU’s Bio Design Institute and the University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics are predicting that Arizona will have a significant death rate if no additional public health measures are put in place. Further, current estimates predict that hospitals will run out of ICU space and staffing by the first week in January, if not sooner. I urge you to immediately implement a state-wide mask protocol as an additional public health measure to contain and manage the spread of this virus. Keeping Arizonians and our visitors safe is vital to our economy, tourism, and health care systems.
If you like to use statistics, here are a few: Over 100 times more people have died than in the war in Afghanistan, 93 times the casualties of 9/11, 9 times more than the Korean War, 5 times more than the war in Viet Nam which lasted 20 years, almost 3 times more than WWI and it is estimated that we could exceed the number of American deaths in WW2 by the beginning of April.

Write to our local mayors: Greg Mengarelli (Greg.Mengarelli@prescott-az.gov), Kell Palguta (mayor@pvaz.net) and Darryl Croft (dcroft@chinoaz.net) and Craig Brown, Chair of the YC Board of Supervisors (web.bos.district4@yavapai.us). The City of Prescott and the county offices are closed to the public due to a rise in COVID among the staff. Earlier this week, the county reported 134 cases of COVID in their staff.
- In the past six days there have been 693 new cases of COVID in Yavapai County. Prescott and Prescott Valley have the highest incidence rates.

The hundreds of revelers at the cancelled Courthouse Lighting on Saturday night showed that personal freedom and Christmas cannot be stopped in our hometown. Now that we got that out of our system, how about approaching the rest of the holiday season with a different spirit….The event wholeheartedly showed that the strategy of “personal responsibility” advocated by the majority of our elected officials throughout Yavapai County is a complete failure. We need a common sense plan for public health mitigation measures from our elected leaders, backed up by enforceable action, with flexibility based on case numbers. This is not impossible—look around at other cities in Arizona.

Over the course of this fall’s elections, Indivisibles made nearly 7 million calls and sent 27.7 million text messages to voters across the country. Your hard work resulted in HUGE voter turnout and a Biden-Harris win! Now we need to focus our energy and time on winning in Georgia by making calls and talking directly to voters. The stakes couldn’t be higher: these two Senate races will determine which party controls the Senate, and who will have the power to define our national trajectory for the next decade!
