October 15 Newsletter: Gearing up for Early Voting

MIami Dade To Do This Weekend
MiamDade 2020 Election Voters Guide

Donald Trump and Mike Pence are both in Miami-Dade County today, holding reckless rallies, fundraisers and holding a televised town hall on NBC to compete with Joe Biden’s town hall on ABC. They are spreading lies about Joe Biden’s agenda while dodging responsibility for the health and economic wellbeing of our country. Can you come to a socially-distanced, masked protest outside the PAMM? Sign up here.

We’re staying focused on the momentum we’ve built up in Miami-Dade and across Florida. Our community engagement organizers have knocked on close to 60,000 doors in the last few weeks, and we’ve made hundreds of thousands of phone calls and texts to Democrats in this County. And we’ve advertised our voter guide, www.votefordemocrats.miami, to hundreds of thousands of Miami-Dade Democrats.

More than 25% of Democrats with a Vote-by-Mail ballot have mailed them back or returned them in person already. If you haven’t mailed your ballot in yet, we strongly encourage you to sign the back of the envelope and mail it by October 17 so that it has plenty of time to be received by the Supervisor of Elections before Election Day. Ballots not received by 7pm on Election Day will not be counted. Remember: you can track the status of your ballot at www.checkmyballot.miami. After October 17, we encourage you to take your completed ballots in their signed envelopes to a secure drop box located at any of the 33 Early Voting sites around Miami-Dade County. You can see the full list of Early Voting sites at www.earlyvoting.miami.

We’ve made a quick video highlighting the importance of mailing your ballots by October 17 or using the Drop Boxes during Early Voting. Can you take a few seconds to watch it and share with a few friends? The video is available in Spanish and Haitian Creole as well.

Ways to get involved:

We’re still looking for volunteers at our Early Voting Sites!

We need more volunteers to help us hand out slate cards at Early Voting Sites across Miami-Dade. This is a HUGE undertaking and we’re going to need all the help we can get! Sign up here: Join the Miami-Dade Dems at an Early Voting Site.

No-Contact Canvasses (we will be placing door-hangers with our Democratic Voter Guide)

Saturday, October 17 starting at 8:30am

Sunday, October 18 starting at 8:30am

Other Volunteer Opportunities:

Join one of our phone banks:
Democratic turnout this August increased by nearly 70% from four years ago. And Vote-By-Mail is one of the big reasons why. Now more than ever, it’s important to keep the momentum going and deliver Florida to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and all our Democratic candidates up and down the ballot. Help encourage voters to mail their ballots in early or drop off at early voting locations drop-boxes. Sign up here: https://www.mobilize.us/miamidadedems/event/309100/

Join the Voter Protection Team:
Voter protection team is looking for lawyers, problem solvers and patriotic people to help protect the vote during Early Voting and on Election Day. There are remote and in-person opportunities: https://go.joebiden.com/page/s/voter-protection-team-fl

Our Campaign Offices:

We now have campaign offices open in Aventura, Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, Cutler Bay, Doral, Homestead, Liberty City, Little Havana, Miami Gardens, North Miami, Palmetto Bay and Perrine. You can see their locations and hours here.

There are a couple of caravans happening this weekend:

Miami Beach Early Voting Car Caravan
Blue Tsunami Biden Caravan
Riden with Biden South Dade Caravan

Become a Sustaining Donor

I can’t thank all of our sustaining donors enough for stepping up and pitching in a small amount each month. These sustaining donations allow us to plan the programs that will drive up voter turnout across our county. We couldn’t run our field program or our digital program without your support.

Can you become a sustaining donor of $7$10, or $20.20 today?

We know this is a tough time for many of us right now, so please know we appreciate you staying involved in any way that you can. Thank you for all you do.
