Today, Saturday, September 26 at 2:00 PM, the Florida Democratic Party will host a virtual Down Ballot Day of Action aimed to mobilize Floridians who are voting by mail to cast ballots for Democratic candidates up-and-down the ballot. The day of action will officially kick-off the “Get Out The Vote” phase of the campaign.

Chair of the Democratic National Committee, Tom Perez; Chair of the Florida Democratic Party, Terrie Rizzo; and Florida HD-101 Representative, Rep. Shevrin Jones, will kick off the day’s virtual events.
Today’s day of action is part of the Florida Democratic Party’s efforts to elect Democrats at every level of government. Over 400 Democratic candidates are running for office throughout the state, comprising the FDP’s historic Sunshine Slate of candidates.
“This is the most diverse, talented and experienced group of candidates the party has ever seen. From expanding Medicaid, to helping the unemployed, to safely re-opening schools, it is abundantly clear that local leaders have a profound impact on our lives,” said Florida Democratic Party Chairwoman, Terrie Rizzo. “To truly flip Florida blue we have to elect Democrats at every single level and increase turnout for Joe Biden.”

Florida Democrats believe in effective and efficient government that prioritizes quality education, affordable health care, and an economy in which anyone who works hard can succeed.

Most importantly, we believe that we are stronger together. We believe the fundamental American promise — that you can go as far as your own hard work will take you — should shine brightest in Florida.

That is why we champion the middle class and cherish the principle that all Floridians should have the opportunity to work hard and succeed. That is why we will never stop fighting for better public schools, because education is the surest path to a better life for millions.

From standing for affordable health care and better schools to fighting for civil rights and access to the ballot box, Florida Democrats are leading every day to move our state forward.
