- Since 1988, Northwestern Law professor Andrew Koppelman has been arguing that the Civil Rights Act of 1964 protects LGBTQ employees from workplace discrimination. It took a while, but last month, the US Supreme Court finally agreed. Professor Koppelman is the John Paul Stevens Professor of Law at Northwestern University.
