On Sunday, July 12, 2020, Florida Set New Single-Day U.S. Record With Over 15,000 New Cases
FLORIDA — After Florida reported a record breaking number of new coronavirus cases, more than 15,000 in one day, the Florida Democratic Party released a new video slamming Governor Ron DeSantis for ignoring the coronavirus crisis and refusing to take more safety measures while the number of cases skyrocketed.
“Since the start of this pandemic, Ron DeSantis has followed Donald Trump’s chaotic lead, making Florida a global hotspot for the coronavirus pandemic,” said Florida Democratic Party Chair Terrie Rizzo, “Governor DeSantis isn’t on the ballot this November, but the person guiding him through this failed response is — Floridians can and will hold Trump and Florida Republicans accountable at the ballot box for the devastation caused in our state.”
The latest video is the third in a series of videos released by the Florida Democratic Party to educate Floridians on the lack of leadership by Trump, DeSantis and Florida Republicans in addressing the pandemic, our economy and our healthcare systems.
The first video in the series, “Nothing Has Changed” was released on June 27,
followed by #NoJaxRNC released on July 2. The videos racked up more than 1,000,000 organic views, likes and shares on FDP’s social platforms.
