Today, the Young Democrats of Oregon are pleased to share with you our open letter to the Oregon Legislature, demanding they pass LC 49, a critical first step to mitigating police violence and institutional racism. After generations of institutional violence and racism in this country, we have a long way to go to healing the damage we have done and LC 49 won’t be a cure-all. However, we are urging our legislators to vote YES on this bill to put in place accountability for our law enforcement officers.
