THE WEEK IN REVIEW
Speaker Announcement!
We are so pleased to announce that Stacey Abrams of Georgia will join us for our State Convention Welcome Night next Friday, June 12th! Leader Abrams is the former Georgia House Democratic Leader who ran a remarkable and inspiring race for Governor in 2018. She faced massive voting rights restrictions and voter roll purges and is using her experiences to push for election reform all over the country. We are lucky to have her kick off our convention!
Please RSVP for our Welcome Night kick-off with Stacey Abrams next Friday at 5:30 PM!
Protests Sweeping the State and Nation
We want to take a moment to thank those who are organizing, protesting, and speaking out in support of sweeping changes to our systems in the name of racial justice. Among these advocates are many of our elected leaders – we thank them for doing the work and are proud to have them as representatives of the values we hold and the policies we support as a Party.
Gov. Parson Called Out on National Television
Did you catch the latest episode of Last Week Tonight? We’ve all known it for a while, but now comedian John Oliver and the rest of the country are catching up on our voter-suppressing Governor. We have a leader who refuses to expand our voting rights because he’s afraid of what will happen when all show up to the polls. Make sure you show up and bring three friends along with you!
Check out this clip and share with friends.
The Fight for Medicaid Expansion is in Full Swing
The Missouri GOP are about to lose their fourth ballot initiative in a row. (No wonder they try to put so much red tape between you and the ballot box.) We have just 59 days to go until we will vote to expand Medicaid in the August 4th primary election. The last time our Governor moved a ballot initiative question to August, we showed up in droves and voted 67% to 32% to defeat the so-called Right to Work law. To win, we must organize. It’s going to take phone calls, and text messages, and emails, and postcards. Are you in?
Chip in toward the fight, if you can!

Get Your Census in TODAY!
Filling out your census is the single most important thing you can do to ensure fair representation for your community for the next decade. It takes only TWO minutes online or over the phone at https://my2020census.gov/. Remember, we lose or gain seats based on these numbers, so please check with your friends and family and share the link above. Be counted!

Understanding Your New Voting Rights
The folks over at Missouri Voter Protection Coalition created a handy, shareable graphic to help you understand the new expanded absentee voting law passed by the Legislature and just signed by the Governor. It doesn’t go nearly far enough, but it’s an important first step. As we flip seats and elect a Democratic SOS, we’re going to implement a massive expansion of voting rights across the board. Make sure you share this new info with friends and neighbors, so everyone can make a plan to vote in August and November!
It’s A Numbers Game
YOU can register new Democrats and flip seats all across the state! There are 154,000 likely Democrats out there waiting for a nudge from you. Visit our interactive map and click on your county and get your neighbors registered today!
