New Actions! Renew your activism. Protect Democracy.

3 mins read

It seems like ages ago that we were gathering in our homes and cafes to make calls to voters, write postcards, or host a Political Punch Party to raise money. We were even gearing up to get ready to canvas for candidates. How times have changed! It is now hard to think of anything else besides the health and welfare of our families, friends, community, nation, and world.

Even in this very difficult time, it is helpful to remember something that Stacey Abrams has said, “Democracy only works when we work for it, when we fight for it, when we demand it.”

The health and welfare of our communities depend on us staying engaged in this election.

Virtual Activism

We loved our in-person events! But for now, we need to get over any hang-ups we’ve had about technology and use it to our advantage. Lean Left is working on events that will help people get comfortable with the virtual conferencing technology. Phone bank afternoons or evenings with friends are still possible. Stay tuned!

Actions You Can Take NOW!

Talk to Voters

Join our phone banking Q & A tonight!

With canvassing at a standstill, phone banking is our most important form of voter contact! At this month’s Q&A, we’ll talk about how we’re staying plugged in as activists in the time of Covid19; plus our question for this month is: What is a predictive dialer?

And, as always, we’ll end the session with an update on current and upcoming Lean Left actions. Newbies and seasoned veterans more than welcome!

Write Postcards to Voters in North Carolina

There are still many postcards to write for North Carolina. This is an ongoing voter registration effort, writing postcards to de-registered voters in voter suppression states.

Keep the Dollars Rolling In!

Every month Lean Left Vermont chooses a candidate or organization as the beneficiary of the month.

In March we raised $5047 for Win Maine that will help defeat Susan Collins and support Congressman Jared Golden (ME-2).

April’s Spotlight is for You Can Vote, a North Carolina non-profit focusing on giving disenfranchised communities a voice in the political process!

Check Out the Lean Left website for updates and information

DemCast is an advocacy-based 501(c)4 nonprofit. We have made the decision to build a media site free of outside influence. There are no ads. We do not get paid for clicks. If you appreciate our content, please consider a small monthly donation.

Lean Left Vermont works to elect Democrats and Progressives in key states around the nation. We empower Vermonters to engage in strategic, targeted actions that will flip congressional and state-level seats from red to blue, or keep seats blue.
