A lot can happen in one week, and this week is no exception. In the face of a growing number of coronavirus cases in Florida, and the reality that the numbers are probably a severe undercount, we made the hard decision to cancel our planned “Blue Forum & Fair” which was to take place on March 15.
We will be making an announcement about how our official meetings will take place under these conditions, so please stay tuned for updates about that.
Do You Have a Plan To Vote?
Florida’s presidential preference primary is on Tuesday, March 17. There are still a few days left of early voting, and we encourage you to vote early if possible so you avoid long lines and crowds on Election Day. Check out the schedule and list of early voting locations here.
Join Our Sustaining Donor Program
One of the most powerful ways you can support our work is by becoming a sustaining donor. The local Miami-Dade Democratic Party is a self-funded, membership-driven organization of dedicated volunteers. Our monthly donor program allows our team to plan strategically where to put our resources in advance. Even $5 a month makes a big difference, and we thank you!
Thanks to the hard work of volunteers over the past two years, we have won three special elections, flipped two congressional seats, and have done a tremendous amount of infrastructure building, leadership development, and issue work.
We are the largest Democratic county (600K registered Democrats) in the biggest swing state. To win in 2020 and remove Trump from office, we need to move past the boom & bust cycle of party funding and become a truly self-sustaining organization. The sustaining donor program is built on our grassroots donors saying, “This is my party and I own a piece of its success.” Thank you for all that you do.
We’re Hiring Field Organizers
This week, we’ve started interviewing field organizer candidates. However, there is still time to apply if you would like to be a field organizer, or if you know of someone who would be a good field organizer.
If you are excited to conduct voter outreach, engagement, voter registration, and vote-by-mail signups, if you want to build and manage volunteer events such as phone banks and voter registration drives, if you you can recruit, train, and manage volunteers with the aim of building teams capable of operating independently, you should apply.
DemCast is an advocacy-based 501(c)4 nonprofit. We have made the decision to build a media site free of outside influence. There are no ads. We do not get paid for clicks. If you appreciate our content, please consider a small monthly donation.
