Ohio Democratic Party Endorses Incumbent Members of Congress, State Legislators

COLUMBUS — The Ohio Democratic Party executive committee voted unanimously Wednesday night to endorse Congresswoman Joyce Beatty, Congresswoman Marcia Fudge, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, Congressman Tim Ryan and the incumbent Democratic members of the Ohio House and Senate running for re-election in 2020.

“As we look ahead to November, Ohio Democrats are focused like a laser on defeating Donald Trump and ending gerrymandering by breaking the Republican supermajorities in the Ohio House and Senate and electing two new Supreme Court justices,” said Ohio Democratic Party Chairman David Pepper. “That’s why we’re proud to endorse these outstanding public servants who have stood up for our progressive values and fought for Ohio’s working families throughout their time in office.”

Each incumbent went through an endorsement process that included a screening committee interview with their local Democratic Party, and in the instance of primary challenges, those candidates were also invited to participate in the screening committee process.
