Investigative reporters Peter Byrne and Will Carruthers return to the show to speak about the latest story in their “Power Brokers” series: “Burned.” This muckraking report is case study of political influence and media control in California, examining the connections between utility giant PG&E, the catastrophic California wildfires of 2017, a nonprofit, and a lobbyist for PG&E who doubles as a newspaper executive, controlling the largest newspaper conglomerate in Northern California.
