On Friday, December 6, students all over the world demonstrated in a global #ClimateStrike during the UN Climate Change Conference in Madrid. In Madrid, an estimated 500,000 people came out to march in the streets, demanding climate action now.
In Chicago the crowd was smaller, but hundreds of students and and adults marched through downtown with poignant signs to demand action.
When the demonstrators reached the Cloud Gate sculpture (commonly known as “the Bean,” they laid down in a die-in, which attracted the attention of the many tourists who flock to the Bean every day.
