- TEXTING WITH FIELD TEAM SIX
Field Team Six is starting its final push for this election cycle, reaching unregistered voters who are likely Democrats and getting them on the rolls. There are still millions of people yet to be reached! We can sign up to join their text banks on Thursdays and Saturdays here and here. - HELP RECRUIT FOR NEIGHBOR-TO-NEIGHBOR CANVASSING
Indivisible’s Neighbor2Neighbor tool helps folks easily do relational canvassing in decisive swing states and districts – because the most effective voter outreach is from people you already know and respect. But those of us in deep blue or deep red areas can still do our part with this program! Indivisible needs folks to call likely volunteers in swing districts and recruit them to do Neighbor2Neighbor canvassing. Indivisible Northampton-Swing Left Western Massachusetts is holding an online training for these calls on Monday at 7 PM – and after that we can phonebank whenever we have time on our own! Let’s sign up for this virtual meeting here.
- STICKY NOTE CAMPAIGNING
Get a pad (or 2 or 3) of sticky notes, write messages and post them wherever women may see them – public bathroom stalls, the backs of tampon boxes, public bathroom mirrors, the gym, etc. Suggested message: “Woman to Woman – Your vote is private. No one sees your vote at the polls. Protect your rights! Vote Harris-Walz!” Men are also starting to adapt this method to help reach folks who may not realize this could be their way out. Let’s do this! (h/t CFAA)
- OVERSEAS AND MILITARY VOTERS: ASSISTANCE AND ALERTS
The Federal Voting Assistance Program has a service that will send us email alerts that provide absentee voting information, deadline reminders, and more. If we’re overseas or military voters, let’s sign up, and let’s share this information with those who need it. And if we’ve requested a ballot as overseas or military citizens and haven’t received it yet, we can still vote by filling out the Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot with this online assistant.
- EFFECTIVE DONATING IN THE FINAL DAYS
We’ve all been bombarded with requests for money from every direction the last few months, and it’s hard to know who really needs it. Fortunately, the folks at Give Smart have been hard at work determining where our dollars can go furthest this campaign cycle. Let’s consider splitting a donation between the 10 legislative races they and The States Project have calculated are most likely to be tipping points for our last contributions!

Ways we can help get out the vote
- PHONE BANK FOR TAMMY BALDWIN AND MORE SENATE WOMEN
Sen. Tammy Baldwin in Wisconsin needs to win re-election for us to keep the Senate, and her polls are getting tighter. The Cook Political Report just moved her race from Lean Democrat to Toss Up. Wisconsin of course is also one of the Blue Wall states that Harris must keep in her column, so each vote for her is especially impactful. The Wisconsin Dems are hosting a two-hour phone bank for Tammy and Kamala today and all the (both!) remaining pre-election Fridays 5-7 PM ET. Let’s sign up here. We can also join Grassroots Democrats HQ in their series of phonebanks for women Senate candidates including Tammy Baldwin, Senator Jacky Rosen’s reelection campaign in Nevada and Rep. Elissa Slotkin’s effort to replace retiring Democrat Debbie Stabenow in Michigan here on Saturdays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. - FREE BUS RIDE TO CANVASS IN SWING STATES
Whether we call it canvassing or door knocking, one on one voter conversations remain a very powerful way to get out the vote. Now Swing Left has made it easy for us to reach the voters we need to persuade by offering free rides to key areas from blue cities (and back). We can find out more about taking buses to canvass in key districts here. (Also, if we are a first-time canvasser or would like to brush up on techniques, we can check out this video from Amber Browning-Coyle with lots of good advice and helpful tips for successful door-to-door campaigning.)
- TEXT OUT THE VOTE IN NEVADA
Nevada’s six electoral votes are very much on the table, and we need to make sure we win them for Kamala Harris. The Nevada Democrats have multiple textbanking shifts open all weekend to contact voters and make sure they have a plan for getting to the polls. We can sign up here.
- AND POSTCARD OUT THE VOTE TOO – SPANISH SPEAKERS NEEDED
!If we are able, Activate America needs writers who can write GOTV postcards to infrequently voting Democrats in Nevada who prefer to receive information in Spanish. Mail by Oct. 23 at the latest. Let’s sign up here. (h/t CFAA)
- STATE SUPREME COURTS ON THE BALLOT
Much like on the federal level, state supreme courts don’t get nearly the attention they deserve for the power they wield. And unlike on the federal level, many state supreme court justices are directly accountable to the voters. We will get to decide the fate of 82 supreme court seats in 33 states next month – and the consequences for reproductive rights and voting rights in particular could be huge. Partisan majorities are up for grabs in Michigan and Ohio. We get the option to fire judges who supported abortion and IVF bans in Alabama, Arizona, Florida and Iowa. The right hopes to gain ground in Montana and North Carolina, while the left could do the same in Kentucky. Let’s check out and share Bolts’ state-by-state guide to supreme court races with our networks, especially if we’re in the many states where these races will be on our ballots. And we can consider volunteering with and donating to:· AZ: Progress Arizona’s efforts to reject Justices Clint Bolick and Kathryn King after they upheld Arizona’s abortion ban· KY: Pamela Goodwine’s campaign for a seat on the high court· MI: Justice Kyra Harris Bolden’s reelection campaign and Kimberly Thomas’ effort to flip an open seat· MN: Chief Justice Natalie Hudson and Justice Karl Procaccini’s reelection campaigns· MS: Justice James Kitchens’ reelection campaign· MT: Judge Jerry Lynch and Judge Katherine Bidegaray’s campaigns for open seats· NC: Justice Allison Riggs’ reelection campaign· OH: Justice Melody Stewart and Justice Michael Donnelly’s reelection campaigns and Judge Lisa Forbes’ campaign to swing an open seat· TX: Judge DaSean Jones, Judge Christine Weems, and Judge Bonnie Lee Goldstein’s campaigns to unseat incumbents on the state supreme court and Holly Taylor, Judge Nancy Mulder and Judge Chika Anyiam’s bids for open seats on the court of criminal appealsWA: Sal Mungia’s campaign for an open seat

Ways we can help get out the vote
- MAKE CALLS TO ELECT KAMALA HARRIS AND OTHER DEMSThe Harris/Walz organizing team needs our help making phone calls for Kamala Harris and other Democrats down the ballot! There are sessions scheduled every day up to the end of October, so there’s lot of chances for us to participate. All sessions start with an 20 minute training and an overview of the calls we’ll be making that day (if we want a head start, we can also check out their dialer instructional video here). We can use a computer, tablet or smartphone to make calls, but joining the zoom with a computer or tablet will provide a better experience. We can find out more, choose a day and time that works for us here, and then get busy calling!
- MOMSRISING NEEDS TEXTING HELPMomsRising shipped postcard packets to over 70 THOUSAND volunteers with enough time for those volunteers to complete and mail 5 MILLION postcards to mom voters who don’t always vote! Many of us were part of that. Now, as the election gets closer, they are moving to texting. They will provide everything we need, including training and a fun environment to text with other volunteers if you want! Let’s sign up here.
- GET OUT THE NATIVE AMERICAN VOTE
The Native American vote surged in Arizona in 2020, functionally providing the margin of victory for Joe Biden, Governor Katie Hobbs and Attorney General Kris Mayes. This cycle, organizers are working to ensure indigenous voices are heard in this state again. We can join organizers in phonebanking Thursdays and Sundays to reach Navajo, Hopi and Apache voters and assist them in returning their ballots here, and help call to make the last push with these crucial folks during the last weekend of the election here.
- POSTCARDS TO VOTERS STILL NEEDS HELPPostcards to Voters is winding down its campaigns with its recommended last mailing date of Oct. 29th, but some of the campaigns still need writers. We can follow PTV’s progress on their Facebook page. Here’s where we can get involved – let’s check here and see where we can help.
- RANKED-CHOICE VOTING IS ON THE BALLOTThe Trump era has laid bare that our electoral system has serious structural flaws we cannot put off addressing. Advocates for ranked-choice voting and similar systems have seized the moment to make their case, and their work has already paid dividends – helping keep extremists like Sarah Palin out of office in 2022. Voters in multiple states will have a chance to weigh in on these reforms next month, whether expanding RCV to new elections or resisting right-wing pushback against it. Let’s help ensure the change we need by helping out in:· Alaska, where we must defeat Measure 2 to stop the repeal of the existing ranked-choice voting system· Arizona, where voters are faced with dueling initiatives – Proposition 140 to use open primaries and ranked-choice voting and Proposition 133 which would prohibit top-two and top-four primaries, thus overruling Proposition 140· Colorado, where Proposition 131 would institute ranked-choice voting and top-four primary elections· Idaho, where Proposition 1 would bring ranked-choice voting and top-four open primaries to the state· Missouri, where advocates are trying to stop Amendment 7 from banning ranked-choice voting· Montana, where CI-127 would require election winners to garner a majority of the vote to win rather than just a plurality, laying the groundwork for requiring runoffs or ranked-choice voting· Nevada to help pass the ranked-choice initiative Question 3· Oregon to help pass Measure 117 for federal and state elections· Washington, DC to help pass Measure 83 and establish ranked choice voting in the district

- MA – UNION RIGHTS FOR RIDE SHARE DRIVERS
Voter in our state are casting their ballots on Question 3, which if passed would allow those who drive for Uber, Lyft, DoorDash and similar companies to unionize and collectively bargain just like other employees. The measure has earned the support of the Service Employees International Union and the Machinists Union, Our Revolution, the Women’s March, Progressive Massachusetts and leaders like Reps. Pressley and McGovern and Attorney General Campbell, and would make history – Massachusetts would be the first state in the nation to let drivers organize! Let’s show our support for drivers and union organizers and vote yes for the initiative and join those hitting the doors and phones to get out the vote for it.
